Check out these assessment tools to determine if your use (or a loved one's use) of substances has crossed the line to addiction. If your suspicions are confirmed, don't panic! Recovery is possible, and we are here to help. Remember that these assessments are built on general guidelines, and only a professional can diagnose whether an individual has an addiction problem, a different problem or both. 

ALCOHOL  ADDICTION 

  • First thing's first. What's a "standard" drink? Find out here
  • Take the World Health Organization's Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) here

 

DRUG ADDICTION

  • Take the drug abuse screening test (DAST-10) here

 

GAMBLING ADDICTION

  • To find out if you may need a formal evaluation of a gambling problem, use the National Council on Problem Gambling's (NCPG's) assessment tools provided here

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH 

  • How is your overall level of health? Save and fill out the Healthy Living Questionnaire here, and ATS will help you determine what type of care you may need. 
  • The Center for Integrated Health Solutions (US Dept. of Health & Human Services) provides screening tools for emotional, behavioral and other health concerns. Find them here.
